NEWS ALERT from @​FBIChicago: Federal Judge Sentences Man to 19 Years in Prison for Violently Robbing Two Banks in Downtown Chicago Jawad Hakeem has been sentenced to 19 years in prison after pleading guilty for his role in two violent bank robberies in downtown Chicago. Hakeem brandished a handgun during both bank robberies, which occurred in March 2023. During the second robbery, Hakeem fired nine shots at the bank's security personnel. According to the FBI's 2025 Reported Crime in the Nation report, robbery rates dropped 18.5% nationwide and 33.4% in the state of Illinois.
