Education is one of the greatest treasures. Someone to encourage young minds is equally valuable. That’s why we want to recognize this icon. Dr. Shaquille O’Neal could soon have more college degrees than he has NBA rings. Right now, that game is tied, 4 - 4. The NBA legend and scholar is keeping busy in his life after the league. He’s already working on a 5th degree just months after graduating from Louisiana State University with a Master of Liberal Arts. He also holds a Bachelor's degree, MBA, and Doctor of Education. “Never stop learning, embrace failure as part of success, and remember that your character will take you further than your résumé,” he said. Dr. O’Neal also joined LSU's faculty this year, to teach a course on mentorship. He’s also partnered with Credit One Bank to give free credit education to 500 LSU students who register through the Credit One Tipoff Tour, and plans to throw a party as DJ Diesel near campus this fall. As for that next degree he wants to earn, he’s currently studying Criminal Justice.
