A five-year-old takes a walk through his own gated neighborhood. His mom ends up on Virginia’s child abuse registry for seven years. Karyann Parkinson says her son was following a familiar path to collect goose feathers when security stopped him and brought him home. Police and CPS then became involved. Parkinson was convicted of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and says the registry placement means she can't even volunteer in her son's classroom until he's in sixth grade.
