When someone is in crisis, taking a pause can save a life. New research shows Gun Violence Restraining Orders (GVROs) do exactly that. In the six months a GVRO was in effect, firearm-violence arrests dropped by 80% — and the protection continued even after the order expired, with arrests remaining significantly lower in the following six months.
