The National Research Council of Canada's latest annual report highlights a joint breakthrough between Xanadu, the University of Toronto (@UofT), and the NRC (@NRC CNRC\@CNRC NRC). Together, we co-developed quantum algorithms capable of modeling complex electron interactions inside high-capacity battery cathodes (RIXS spectroscopy)—a feat practically impossible using classical computers alone. By transforming an algorithm that would have taken decades to run into one that executes in just weeks, this collaboration is helping unlock safer, faster-charging, and longer-lasting next-gen battery materials.
