Macklemore has been dropped from the rest of Ed Sheeran's U.S. tour. The rapper faced backlash for leading MetLife Stadium crowds in chants of "Free Palestine" during his opening sets earlier this month. In a statement, Macklemore claimed Ed Sheeran told him Robert Kraft said he would not be allowed to perform at Gillette Stadium after the MetLife shows and alleges other stadium owners backed an ultimatum to remove him from the tour. The tour's promoter told Fox that venues on the remaining stops would not allow Macklemore on the lineup, saying keeping him on would have resulted in canceled shows impacting hundreds of thousands of fans. Macklemore said he wanted to use stadium stages across America as an opportunity to advocate for Palestine, repeatedly calling to "Free Palestine" before performing his anti-Israel song "Hind's Hall" during his opening sets.
