Last month, Texas Quantum Partners and Samara broke ground on Occam Foundry, a quantum technology campus in southeastern Travis County, Texas. Matthew Cimaglia and Alex Challans were on-site exploring where the campus will take shape. The idea: put quantum companies, university teams, working quantum systems, and fabrication/prototyping capabilities in one place. Texas already fabricates chips at scale. This is about building the capability layer around that, so quantum hardware can go from idea to working system without leaving the state. First phase covers part of the 16.5 acres, with room to grow. Discussions are underway with anchor tenants and research partners, and the project is expected to support hundreds of jobs in Texas's advanced-tech economy.
