End of Watch: Police Officer Edward Contreras September 28, 2021 Today, we honor the life and service of Officer Edward Contreras. Officer Contreras joined the LVMPD on July 18, 2006, following his service in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he served in Somalia and Iraq. He began his law enforcement career as a patrol officer in the South Central and Convention Center Area Commands before joining the Traffic Bureau, where he worked alongside his brother, Michael. For 15 years, Officer Contreras served our community with dedication, integrity, and strength. Off duty, he was a devoted husband and father who loved fishing, woodworking, and spending quality time with his family. Officer Contreras passed away on September 28, 2021, due to complications from COVID-19. He was 50 years old and is survived by his wife, Stephanie, and his son, Aaron. He is deeply missed.
