one they’ve offered. Bret Baier: Here’s the president Saturday, asked about plans to maybe strike Iran before the midterms. Bret Baier: The president said he wants specific nuclear concessions. He wants a lot of things. The Iranians tonight are saying they want this money unfrozen and sanctions lifted. Do you think there’s any hope for any negotiation that actually works before the midterms? Brit Hume: Well, I think this, Bret: that the president says he doesn’t really care about the midterms. I think he cares a great deal about the midterms, and I think that his threat, as he put it, to start bombing after the midterms is probably, as much as anything, intended to give Iran the idea that if they don’t make a deal before then, it’s going to be lights out. So that’s where I think we are, but I’m not particularly optimistic that they can make a deal that the United States could accept or trust. ▻
