BREAKING: CBS Sports and Tony Romo are parting ways after nine years together, following his July OWI arrest in Milwaukee. “CBS Sports and Tony Romo have mutually agreed to part ways,” a CBS spokesperson said, thanking the former Cowboys quarterback for his contributions and wishing him the best. The split comes just a few months after Romo’s July OWI arrest, which he later pleaded no contest to and publicly apologized, saying he needed to “confront and own my mistakes fully.” Romo says he’s now taking a break to focus on his health and family before moving on to his next opportunity. JJ Watt will continue alongside Jim Nantz and Tracy Wolfson as CBS’ lead NFL broadcast team.
