People often ask Marlee Matlin why her interpreter is a man. Her answer: "He's the messenger. I'm the message." 🤟 With a male voice there's no mix-up about who's talking. And Jack, her longtime interpreter, has done more than speak for her. He's a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults) whose first language is ASL. When Marlee left high school she didn't fully understand how working with an interpreter worked, and she says she learned a lot about the Deaf community from him. Some of the people who believe in us also help us find our voice. šŸ’› Watch the full conversation on The Person Who Believed in Me with David Begnaud, link in comments. #MarleeMatlin #ASL #DeafCommunity #CODA #ThePersonWhoBelievedInMe #DavidBegnaud ā–»
