U.S. national debt rose by $2.53 trillion in fiscal 2026, according to Rep. David Schweikert. He said that equals about $6.9 billion a day; he had earlier warned as 10-year Treasury yields neared 5%, debt hit 123% of GDP and the deficit topped 6%.
