Seven-year-old Eddimar Hernandez was walking with her teenage sister when a woman suddenly lunged at the teen, grabbed the child and stabbed her several times in the back, police said. Witnesses chased down 48-year-old Shavon Gayden and knocked her unconscious before her arrest. Eddimar was rushed to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead. “My daughter’s death should not be left like this. There must be justice for my little girl. She wasn’t bothering anyone,” her mother said. Police have not released a motive. Gayden had an outstanding arrest warrant and is described as a repeat offender with a history of violent attacks. ▻
