JUST IN: A Philadelphia police officer is dead and another is fighting for their life after the two were shot a combined 15 times while responding to a report of an armed man early Saturday morning. Police say the officers came under heavy gunfire after stepping onto a porch in West Philadelphia. The suspect allegedly fired at two more officers before a SWAT team tracked him down hiding in a tree and took him into custody. One officer, a 40-year-old who has two children, was shot three times, Philadelphia Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel said during a news conference. The other officer, a 33-year-old who has five children, was shot 12 times, Bethel said. It remains unclear which officer died. Read more about the attack and the suspect's arrest:
